After One Day

Throughout the years I have had the priveledge of singing with different bands and individuals all over the world. Some of the other band members and original authors of the songs are are still in far-away countries throughout the world and some others no longer alive today.

Weblessons Music is the product of many years of singing in night spots, clubs, coffee houses during the 70s and 80s, and the songs here come from that era. Some of the original musicians may be still playing in far flung places. Weblessons Music is a collection of music pieces acquired over the years as well as some new material.

Those I played with I truly miss. Some are in other countries and some have passed on. I want to put these songs down and into the hands of my family and friends and others before they are lost and gone and forgotten. I hope that in hearing these songs, something in your life is better because of it.

I want to present the general idea of how the song fits together and could be done. Because the songs are meant to be shared via other performers they are kept simple, usually limited to 4 or 5 instruments (Drums, Guitar 1, Lead Guitar, Vocal, Keyboards and Bass tracks) so that the songs can sound the same live. If musicians want to perform the songs, they can be arranged and ramped up or entirely stripped and scaled down to a single guitar if necessary.

As you can probably tell, the music is done "live" without loops, synths, sequencing, sampling or extensive multiple takes or any MIDI orchestration. By presenting the music in this way the songs can be recreated using live performances on stage. Also the songs can be scaled up with more instrumentation or down with less as needed by whoever. I've sung them several different ways throughout the years, depending on my audience, which includes using a single guitar at park benches.

Lately:

These days I have been busy laying down old songs for others to benefit. Singing and playing live has had its drawbacks... no one will hear the songs again unless they are performed live. Or recorded, which never comes up on the schedule of daily survival. At least until now.

I have played music all over the world with a lot of different musicians - the authors of some of these songs. Over time several sets were developed and performed for different venues. So these are the tried and proven songs.

As I moved on and worked with other musicians, some of the older songs carried over into the new arenas. Over time I lost contact with the original friends that I played with, and will soon lose the songs if I don't lay them down now from memory. Hopefully they are doing the same. Fond memories. Hard work.

Why the Name?

"Diner" Music came about because in the past I've played in a lot of restaurants and clubs. I like the name "Diner" as it denotes an informal atmosphere of good food with music entertainment, where people of a common theme can hang out. So that has been the theme through the first few CDs.

So, who or what is ARCON? As the songs are released, if some claim authorship, only the true author can go here. Otherwise, the name is unknown.

Selecting Music

All of the CDs and songs are available for download here as soon as they are ready. As the songs are finished they are posted, even though the entire CD is not "finished". Some are rough mixes and will be re-worked again later. As better mixes or tracks are made they are re-posted so check back often for the latest, better versions.

The songs are in mp3 and wma formats. Click a title at the right and then select the songs. These are recorded in my bedroom "music room" studio.
